That\u2019s how we continue to achieve extraordinary things in extraordinary locations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:inherit\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job description:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span>Purpose<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Support the S3 Control Systems Coordinator by ensuring the reliable operation, optimization, maintenance, and technical governance of all S3 Process Plant<\/p>\n<p>Purpose of the role<\/p>\n<p>Control Systems, including Siemens PCS7 DCS, industrial networks, and<\/p>\n<p>Siemens Gearless Mill Drive (GMD) control systems.<\/p>\n<p>The role ensures maximum plant availability, safe operation, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement of automation, protection, and electrical drive systems within a high-availability mining processing environment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b><span>Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Safety &amp; Governance<\/b><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote and enforce a zero-harm culture.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and review SWIs and participate in HIRA\/JSA processes.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure statutory records, safety logbooks and test equipment compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Report incidents promptly and comprehensively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Control Systems Operations &amp; Maintenance<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install, configure, commission, maintain and optimize S3 Control Systems (Siemens PCS7, S7-400H, Profinet\/Profibus, Scalance, virtualization and associated OT platforms).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure high system availability through redundancy validation, configuration backups and lifecycle management of hardware\/software.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate as-built documentation and adhere to Change Management procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct proactive fault finding and structured root cause analysis to minimize production losses.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain critical spares and ensure system reliability in a high-availability environment.<\/li>\n<li>Provide dependable C&amp;I engineering support to sustain plant stability and performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Support to Electrical Department (GMD &amp; Protection Systems)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical support on Gearless Mill Drive control philosophy, excitation systems, cycloconverters and associated auxiliary systems.<\/li>\n<li>Review and support electrical installations, protection schemes and interlocks to ensure statutory compliance and operational integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with protection coordination (MV\/LV switchgear, transformers, Siprotech, PADU, AVTs, Sinamics SL150 and associated drive systems).<\/li>\n<li>Support periodic protection audits, parameter validation and configuration backups.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure alignment with Zambia Mining Regulations and applicable national standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Performance Monitoring &amp; Optimization<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor plant performance via DCS, historian and drive systems.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Optimize control loops, alarm systems, expert strategies and drive interactions.<\/li>\n<li>Support lifecycle planning and proactive equipment replacement strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Training &amp; Knowledge Transfer<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver structured training on PCS7, PLC systems, GMD concepts, electrical drawings and protection philosophy.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor team members and foster a coaching culture.<\/li>\n<li>Identify specialized training needs and manage vendor remote support.<\/li>\n<li>Support operational alignment with Electrical and Process teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Reporting, Asset Management &amp; Continuous Improvement<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compile detailed activity, cost and performance reports.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate maintenance and configuration records.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to asset management strategy and system resilience.<\/li>\n<li>Drive automation improvements, cybersecurity strengthening and Industry 4.0 initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Support the integrity of auxiliary systems, including cooling, lubrication, MCCs, transformers and cranes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Qualifications<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree\/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Instrumentation.<\/li>\n<li>Siemens PCS7 Certification.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of Siemens Gearless Mill Drive Systems.<\/li>\n<li>EIZ &amp; ERB Registration preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Driver\u2019s Licence.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in VMware virtualisation.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Sinema, Sinec, TIA Portal advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Experience<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 10\u201315 years in mining process plant automation and electrical drive systems.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive experience with:\n<ul>\n<li>Siemens PCS7 DCS<\/li>\n<li>S7-400H PLC systems<\/li>\n<li>Siemens Gearless Mill Drives<\/li>\n<li>Profinet &amp;
