Job description:<\/b><\/p>\n
The role is responsible for the optimisation of hydromet circuits including High Pressure Leach (HPL), atmospheric leaching, solids liquid separation, solvent extraction and electro-winning to achieve target recoveries and maximise cathode production through monitoring of daily performance, identifying gaps in performance and developing both short and medium-term solutions to close the gap. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Provide technical support to operations team.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Develop an in depth technical understanding of the Leaching, Solvent Extraction and Electro-Winning processes at KMP<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical feedback to achieve production targets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Analysing metallurgical data and generate technical reports.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Monitor, manage and optimise consumption of reagents.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Identify, develop and support process improvement projects by coordinating with various departments and\/or vendors, ensuring projects are effectively executed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Carry out plant trials, interpret results and provide recommendations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Evaluate and optimise plant performance via laboratory test work such as leaching, settling tests and SX test work.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Liaise and communicate verbally and in writing with other sections and departments to ensure timely availability of relevant information to appropriate personnel for efficient plant performance and decision-making.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Adhere to statutory and domestic regulations in particular those regarding to safe working practices in order to minimise injury to personnel, damage to company assets and the environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ensure compliance to procedures for all plant and laboratory functions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Perform any other duties as required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n QUALIFICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n Full grade 12 certificate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering or related field<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Computer literate (Including Microsoft Office Package)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n A minimum of 2-year relevant experience in a plant environment is desired<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience conducting laboratory hydrometallurgy test work and working in a hydromet operational environment would be an advantage<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Knowledge of high-pressure leach operations is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Proficiency in data analysis tools (including Excel and PI System) and problem-solving expertise would be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS<\/b><\/p>\n Must be bold, smart, driven and be able to easily work with different teams and members<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must be adaptable and a team player \u2013 build relationships based on trust and respect<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Works with minimum supervision<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Results orientated \u2013 balance quality and quantity of work<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must be a fast learner and exhibit initiative<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must be thorough and detail oriented<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must be dependable and self-motivated<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must have good communication and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS <\/b><\/p>\n Availability to work overtime as operational needs arise.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Willingness to work in environments with exposure to noise, dust, moving and mobile equipment, and hazardous materials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Sound understanding of cultural practices, as well as relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n \n \n Visit our website and register for instant job alerts at First Quantum Careers<\/u><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n
