He\/she will have to fight fires and face life threatening situations. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>He\/she will <\/span><span>be required<\/span><span> to work <\/span><span>long periods<\/span><span> of time depending on the nature of the incident. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>He\/she will be lifting, <\/span><span>pulling<\/span><span> and managing heavy equipment and objects. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span>The Fire Crew Member will have to work in all weather <\/span><span>conditions, and<\/span><span> must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><b><span>Qualifications<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span><span>The incumbent must <\/span><span>possess<\/span><span> the following qualifications;<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Grade 12 certificate with a credit in English and Mathematics,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Basic Fire Fighter or equivalent FF1, FF2 or IFE Level 2 certificate.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Class C Driver\u2019s License<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span><span>Other fire and rescue Qualifications;<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Leading fire fighter Certificate will be an added advantage,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Certificate (SCBA),<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Vehicle Extrication Certificate,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Basic Life Support (BLS),<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Rope Rescue Technician\/High angle Rescue certificate, level 1<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Hazmat training for first responders Certificate, awareness.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>First aid for mining Certificate,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Institution of Fire Engineers qualifications (IFE) an added advantage.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span><span>Any other related fire and rescue qualifications<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b><span>Core Specific Responsibilities<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Respond and carrying out structural and <\/span><span>wild fire<\/span><span>-fighting occurring on the mine,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Attend to all emergency incidents including fires, road accidents, floods, bomb threat incidents, spillages of dangerous substances air crashes, etc.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Rescue trapped people and animals,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Handling of venomous and non-ven<\/span><span>omous snakes and other reptiles<\/span><span>, capture and safe release<\/span><span>,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Safe handling of bees from plant and mobile <\/span><span>equipments<\/span><span> for safety of mine employees<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Provide first aid and basic life support to employees injured on the mine site,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Perform routine maintenance, inspection and testing of all ERT rescue equipment\u2019s to ensure they are readily available during an emergency.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Ensure all statutory \/inspection check sheets are marked accordingly,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Maintain all fire and Ambulance vehicles in good working condition, clean in readiness for any <\/span><span>medical <\/span><span>eventualities,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Carry out inspection, maintenance and testing of all firefighting <\/span><span>equipment\u2019s<\/span><span> installed in the mine as per standard procedure,<\/span><span> (Fire Hydrants, hose reels, first aid <\/span><span>equipments<\/span><span>, emergency eye wash stations, fire extinguishers etc.)<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Participate in training programs to upgrade fire-fighting knowledge and skills by attending lectures, fire drills, mock <\/span><span>drills<\/span><span> and practical training techniques with various rescue tools.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Perform routine maintenance duties on departmental grounds and buildings to <\/span><span>ascertain<\/span><span> their risk,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Clean up and check the site after dealing with an incident<\/span><span>,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Take time to become familiar with the mine pit, <\/span><span>roads<\/span><span> and buildings around the mine <\/span><span>in order to<\/span><span> respond to emergency calls with the utmost speed and efficiency.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Maintain the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of <\/span><span>a fireman<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Maintain links with the local community and educate and inform the public to help promote fire safety, e.g. giving talks in schools and to local organisations, and home visits to offer advice<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Perform other related duties as assigned by ERT team Leader.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Save and protect life, property and <\/span><span>render<\/span><span> humanitarian services and\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Perform special services i.e., washing down of mine infrastructure, tanks,<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span><span>Respond quickly to all unforeseen circumstances as they arise to prevent loss of life, <\/span><span>property<\/span><span> and environment.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Behavioural risks<\/span><span>.<\/span><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Knowledge and Experience<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span><span>The<\/span><span> <\/span><\/span><b><span>Fireman <\/span><\/b><span><span>will require knowledge, <\/span><span>skills<\/span><span> and experience in the following
