That will include but not be limited to bricklaying, casting, ramming and gunning, carpentry, scaffolding work and drilling PSC tuyere holes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b><span>Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b>This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The refractory artisan will \/ must be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demolish and re-build refractory lined furnaces, vessels, ladles and launders, according to design drawings, adhering to the supplier\u2019s preparation and installation guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Demolish and install acid resistant linings<\/li>\n<li>Demolish and build\/cast civil structures<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for cleaning, regular inspection and safe storage of tools and equipment (amongst others, mixers, gunning machines, cutting machines, brick supporting jacks, forklift machines, jack hammers, hand tools, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Be able to safely and productively operate all tools and equipment necessary to perform refractory tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Perform basic rigging including slinging of equipment and crane hand signalling (to crane drivers)<\/li>\n<li>Use hoist\u2019s (hand chain and pendant control operations) for lifting and placement of associated steel-casings, -formers, refractory materials and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of cost and contribute to achieve maximum business benefit by being productive, proactive and keeping waste to a minimum<\/li>\n<li>Will be responsible for the assistants that are assigned to help him\/her with a task<\/li>\n<li>Perform all tasks as\u00a0 instructed by the supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Report work progress and any bottlenecks to the supervisor and complete job cards on time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Qualifications<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Refractory bricklaying apprenticeship (minimum 2 years).<\/li>\n<li>Trade certificate in Bricklaying from a recognized institution<\/li>\n<li><span>All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span>Experience<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a refractory artisan in a Smelter environment<\/li>\n<li>Ideally- Knowledge of repairing fibre glass vessels and ducting<\/li>\n<li>Ideally- Basic fitting experience (bolting, and fixing, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Ideally molten metal and acid plant experience<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Bold initiative<\/li>\n<li>Thinking safely<\/li>\n<li>Upholding quality<\/li>\n<li>Technical Skill<\/li>\n<li>Driving quantity<\/li>\n<li>Driving attendance<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and adaptability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standby and overtime where required<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to noise \/ dust \/ heat \/ hot molten metal \/ acid<\/li>\n<li>Working at heights<\/li>\n<li>Working in confined spaces<\/li>\n<li>Working in hot conditions<\/li>\n<li>Working on all plant equipment\/installations<\/li>\n<li>Working shifts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:inherit\">\n<p style=\"text-align:inherit\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\"><span>Visit our website and register for instant job alerts at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/careers.first-quantum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span class=\"WDC2\">careers.first-quantum.com<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\"><span>Follow us for the latest news at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/first-quantum-minerals-ltd\/careers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a><\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:inherit\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left\"><span>If you are already a First Quantum employee and have access to the First Quantum network, log into First Quantum MINE &gt;
