Overall Job Purpose:<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The primary responsibility is to source for goods and services, make commercial recommendations and ensure timely supply and delivery of goods and services to enhance efficient operations of TFL.<\/p>\n
The role requires expeditious following through and closing out of all requests\/queries from End-Users, Suppliers, Logistics and Finance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Specific Job Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n Sourcing for goods and services as well as making commercial and technical recommendations in liaison with end-users in line with TFL and FQM Trident procedures to meet end-user requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Expediting of goods and services and engaging with suppliers, logistics and other stakeholders to ensure goods arrive in the required timeframe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ensure dates and information against purchase orders in Pronto is accurate, updated, and valid to enable end-users make necessary decisions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Carry out market research and maintain both market and product knowledge for goods and services required by TFL.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Holding suppliers accountable to supply on time and make good on any discrepancies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Build and maintain professional working relationships with internal (warehouse, accounts, logistics, onsite customers) and external (suppliers, freight forwarders, vendors) to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Maintain a register of donations and facilitate delivery to the intended beneficiaries as well as issuance of donation certificates.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Conduct housekeeping inspections of the warehouse, stockyards and back-end of the premises and make follow ups with relevant team members for implementation of recommended actions to ensure the work premises are kept neat, tidy and safe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Coordination of non-passenger transport requests including plant and equipment hire.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Facilitation of collections of items from suppliers in collaboration with Logistics section from FQM Trident Ltd and internal TFL staff<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Managing the vendor registration process and ensure timely approval of the process<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Coordinating feedback to\/from end-users on open POs and ensuring timely and accurate submission of monthly accruals report to Finance and closing of open orders.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Initiate identification of obsolete and redundant stock and make recommendation for disposal and proper storage as may be required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Manage tender process from reviewing of scopes, issuing requests for bids, adjudication, drafting of recommendation reports and contracts\/MoUs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor\/Manager.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Specific Job Competencies:<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Candidate will require the following job specific competencies to ensure good job fit:<\/p>\n Initiate efficiencies in and constantly look out for new and better ways of improving the supply chain<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Demonstrate cost saving initiatives<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Technical Savvy<\/p>\n<\/li>\n ERP system experience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Good negotiation skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Excellent typing and writing skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Accurate and precise attention to detail<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Key Job Attributes:<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Candidate will require the following attributes to ensure good organizational fit:<\/p>\n Trustworthiness<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Adaptability and agility<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ability to interact with people of different cultures<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Time management<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Prompt customer service and timely feedback on queries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ability to work under pressure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Must uphold the FQM values of Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Required Experience and Qualification:<\/b><\/p>\n At least 2 years\u2019 experience in the same or similar position in a busy or large-scale organisation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A minimum of one-year experience in procurement of project related works and services.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience in dealings with local and international suppliers and freight forwarders.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n \u00a0A basic understanding of warehousing, inventory management and remote site supply chain management.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n \u00a0Knowledge in basic workplace health and safety<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Full Grade Twelve Certificate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Minimum of a degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Member of Zambia institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n \n Visit our website and register for instant job alerts at <\/span>careers.first-quantum.com<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n
